Ingredients

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 200 ml heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 20–24 ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Fold the whipped cream gently into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee. Do not soak them for too long.
  5. Arrange a layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers in a serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the biscuits.
  7. Repeat with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Dust generously with cocoa powder before serving and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
